B1A4 sells out their first Japanese arena concert

Article: B1A4 not only enters the Arena 7 months into Japanese debut but also 'sells out all seats'

1. [+344, -98] I still remember their live performance at last year's Gayo Daejun... They accomplished this with.. those skills?

2. [+271, -65] These kids haven't done anything wrong but I heard that the reason they get so much hate is because of their fansㅡㅡ
- Their fandom absolutely disgusts me. I only hate this group because of their fandom. Whoever the b*tches are that made up the Dal Shabet rumors really deserve to be thrown in jail.
- Isn't this that famous fanclub that disappeared at last year's IAC, making the members run hurdles through tears
- Yeah, their fanclub fabricated a bunch of crap at the IAC and dumped it all on Dal Shabet. So fu*kin stupid.
- Last year, they pretended to be kidnapped and blamed it on Dal Shabet. In the end, only Dal Shabet got the hate.
- You're right, B1A4 did not do wrong, Bana did. Nobody left hateful comments about B1A4 when Bana was a respectful fandom but ever since we got disrespectful fans, we've been getting so much hate as a whole.
- We promise to work harder! Please watch over us ^^

3. [+280, -88] Nugyu?

4. [+64, -12] It's because of TVXQ and BoA that Korean singers now are able to even stand ground in Japan. Any idol these days can perform in the arena. This media play is not that special.

5. [+50, -22] What's so special about the arena anymore, TVXQ would burst out laughing if they saw this article ㅋㅋ

6. [+49, -13] Do they even have enough songs for a concert? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ What are they going to hold, a gag concert?

    1. Both b1a4 and dal shabet did a special stage at one of the gayos in 2011. One of the dal shabet members was doing a sexy dance with a b1a4 member and that made the b1ar fans mad. They went on to cyber-bully the girls sending them thousands of death threats messages to the girls via their me2day. But things went awfully wrong at the Ica when the b1a4 fans, banas started reporting that one of them were kidnapped by dal shabet fans and even tape rumor that the police were involved. The fucking fans harassed the dal shabet girls and even sending death threats telling serri the girl that did the sexy dance with the b1a4 guy and her parents to kill themselves.
What was even more outrageous was that b1a4 and theo company did nothing to seize the crazy fan outrage, leaving the dal shabet girls to fend themselves that they even apologize to the fans WTF

  7. That's the most childish freaking thing I've ever read. Seriously? It was just a performance. A little jealousy is okay; rumors of rape and kidnapping is just over the top. Fans are stupid.

  11. block B? IDK but B1A4 is the next TVXQ.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Plus there was also some hacking done by BANAs to Dal Shabet's website, all stemming from the joint performance B1A4 and Dal Shabet did. The jealousy was strong, I guess.

I may be speaking out of turn here but K-BANAs have got to be one of the more delusional, intense fandoms in Korea. They tried setting up Block B in a bad light over some soy sauce chicken incident on MATCH UP (this incident is so stupid in itself, I can only laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of it all), to the point where Jaehyo and U-kwon had to apologize on Twitter (even more ridiculous).

  13. They are such a 'weird' group... especially the dude with the glasses! He has this constant 'dadadadadada i'm in la la land' attitude everytime I come across a B1A4 special... strange group of kids, for real.

Honestly, sounds like Korea's version of Beliebers' or something.

  17. What's with all the hate? If you have nothing to say, then don't say it at all netizens...I never really understand. For rookies that's a really great thing that they sold out all their seats for their first Japanese concert. Can't you just congratulate them? I like them because their songs are good and catchy and they write them. People are seriously so bitter.

    ReplyDelete

    1. yeah. I believe in you. Instead of bashing this group can't you guys just congratulate them for the things they did. In fact, that dalshabet and B1A4 thingy, it already passed.

Yup! ^^ I went to their concert in December and it was a full 3-hour show, no fillers or wasted time either, and they didn't even perform any of the songs from their japanese album! :D netizens again hating on B1A4 when they don't even know anything about them except that they committed the crime of ~not being veterans~, what else is new haha

they have loads of talent and their own charm, but they're not gonna be epic like tvxq was. But then their breakup was epic too (ㅠㅠ) so I'm ok with avoiding that hoo boy

    ReplyDelete
  21. It all boils down to different management, in my opinion. Block B has everything it takes to be huge--talent, catchy and appealing music geared towards the general masses and not just the fandom, and fun personalities. but Stardom has done nothing to get them to where they need to do.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think Block B and B1A4 have a lot in common, just that their styles are so different but they're both talented groups who contribute creatively to their own music. ^^

    ReplyDelete
  23. TVXQ sold more than 3 million of albums in 2012? WTF

Kara is very popular in Japan, more than TVXQ, not only with the KPOP community, Kara is popular with the general public.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Albums + Singles... it's all counted together, I believe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LMAO that list was created by Cassies XD

    ReplyDelete
  26. not to take away from KARA, but TVXQ is just as popular, with fans and general public. name recognition on the street - TVXQ has it, even amongst pple who are not fans and may not listen to their music.

both can be popular. why not? nothing says that only one group can be popular and the other can't

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL no it wasn't. it is a legit annual tally and appeared in various media end of last year.
too bad the OP did not include a source.

    ReplyDelete
  28. They certainly are on par with Beliebers. I guess that's what happens when when your fandom is made up of prepubescent and teenaged girls.

    ReplyDelete
  29. cassies are still living in 2008.

  30. sorry but we are known as bigeast here in japan :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. BigEasts (Tohoshinki's Japanese fanclub) isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  32. in Japan
    Kara >>>>>> JYJ >> Homin

    ReplyDelete
  33. well it's like Kara were Big Bang in Korea and 2VXQ are Super Junior. Suju sell more album and ticket concerts but BB is way more popular.

    ReplyDelete
  34. hahaha not talking about BigEasts. I'm talking about the delusional Cassies around the world who think TVXQ is more popular than KARA in Japan.

    ReplyDelete
  35. No. KARA will smiling together with TVXQ. as they both are the most popular Kgroup in Japan now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. nope, Kara and JYJ. At this rate 2PM will surpass Yunho and changmin.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I doubt Tohoshinki even has time to laugh cos they're too busy preparing for their 5-Dome tour in Japan. lol

    ReplyDelete
  38. meh it's like comparing arashi and akb and saying arashi is not as popular because they only sell half of what akb sells these days.
which is far far far from the truth.

both are popular. one is a male group which you cant really compare to a female group as their target audience and appeal are different.female groups have always generally sold better. that's just the way it is. popularity quantify but a various of factors and not just one factor. this applies to tohoshinki, kara, snsd as well. i would say all three are popular, and their popularity are reflected in different ways.

    ReplyDelete
  39. erm mb you should wait for jyj to start activity in japan first before saying that. Right now they are nobodies in japan outside of their fanbase, which surprisingly, judging from jj n junsu's sales, are not buying enough of their cds to make them sell more than 30k right now.

So yeah, a little premature even if you believe deeply in your oppas but thats not the reality right now

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm not sure what netizens want. If they sold to a deserted crowd, they'd get laughed at by them. Here they're selling out, and they're getting laughed at. Nothing you can do but laugh back at jealous netizens.

  42. Netizens, do research. I'm no bana but me and my nieces(yep) love us some b1a4.
B1A4 has a full length album as well as mini albums, that's plenty.
I've been to American artist concerts AND Korean concerts.
There is no difference, they both have AT MOST ~15-20 songs per artist depending on things.
I've been to a solo artist concert twice (American and Korean), one (amrcn) had ~12 songs, where as the other(kr) had ~7.
But they had opening acts so it was longer. They were both about 3 hours long though.
I've been to a korean concert that featured two artists that was about 12 songs each artist, no opening acts. Was the same, about 3 hours long.
Imo, since its a group and its an official concert and not an event it should last ~15-20 songs, which they can do.
    Just my analysis.
    But I agree about bana.
Although Intl-bana apologized a lot for k-bana and the intl-banas I've talked to were really nice.
I haven't talked to any k-bana, I've talked to some Koreans that enjoy b1a4 but they weren't bana.
I imagine its just like any other fandom, there are the shitty pathetic fans and then the more tame ones. Maybe one more than the other, but I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  43. K Netizens seem important to an extent, but sometimes they are just like Youtube comments or like yahoo articles comments....I hope other Koreans don't take everything they say as gospel...

    ReplyDelete
  44. i think they meant that they were singing really off-tune? I'm not sure if it was Gayo Daejun specifically, but I rmb cringing when they performed 'Baby Goodnight' on some of the award shows. They can do much better lives I think, and i've seen them do that with other songs, but I'm not sure why they sounded so awful with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Some Kamillas should accept KARA's last album failed hard.
Their fans were expecting another 750.000+ sales to brag more about the Japanese Queen's who'll dethrone AKB48 soon and giving chills to their sweet Japanese asses.

They haven't even surpassed 120.000 mark, get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Infinite hasn't been "that synchronized" for a while, but they still managed to sing decently in the "freaking freezing weather," unlike B1A4.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well I'm an adult and I like B1A4 ....and I actually a lot of the time these people are also of age and even older...and they're just not mature enough to stop spreading rumors.

    ReplyDelete
  48. i find it funny cuz everyone has to start off as a rookie and then they make a name for themselves Just look at SNSD...they had a BLACK OCEAN for god sakes and now they're one of the top girl groups, and BIGBANG when YG debuted them...no one was impressed...and kind of ignored them. They got famous after their hard work came through and they came out with their smash hit Lies. Like really...why do people forget this?

    ReplyDelete
  49. tbh they never bothered to buy their korean albums fsr /: I mean even junsu's japanese single sold 200,000+ copies but yeah I agree with you. People should wait for jyj to do something in japan before start saying they're still slaying when they haven't done anything over there since 2010.

    ReplyDelete
  50. That incident was over a year old now, the fandom hasn't had any incidents with other fandoms since. I get it was stupid at the time, and I SMFH at the cray cray younger fans, but honestly, the fandom has been behaving well since then, so I don't understand why we keep getting so much hate. Anyone heard of forgive and forget? Guess that doesn't apply in kpop. There's plenty of sane, normal, rational older fans as well. We try to not associate with the cray cray ones. I have being labeled as a crazy disrespectful fan by people, just because I'm a bana.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Seems a lot of netizens have no clue how active B1A4 have been in less than 2 years. 3 mini albums and a full album is definitely enough songs for a concert.

Also, I'm jealous of you going to their concert. Lucky duck!! I'm praying they come to the US someday so I can see them too.

    ReplyDelete
  52. LOL. No they're not. I'm a B1A4 fan but I like to remain in reality. I think they will be bigger and successful in the future, but they are not the next TVXQ.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I noticed this too. I wonder if there was something wrong with their feedback, as I've never seen them sing that off key. They're usually really consistent with their lives. I noticed other groups had issues too.

    ReplyDelete
  54. They don't. Lol. These comments are like the top comments on AKP or something for international fans. It in no way reflects the general opinion of Korea.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The issue with the majority of B1A4's fandom is that they're young girls who are immature. Especially k-banas. I think as they grow up they'll be embarrassed about how they acted when they were younger. XD

    ReplyDelete
  56. The performances for that song was consistently off for several of the award shows, not just one. And that's when other performers seem to be doing ok. Now that I look back at their performances of Baby Goodnight on music shows, they were pretty much all of that standard. I think a few of the members may not be comfortable singing in a higher range e.g. CNU clearly had problems transitioning to his falsetto. The lead vocal(s) are competent enough, but they never sing their parts (and the chorus) audibly and so it becomes really obvious when the backtrack volume is turned down. Their recent title song fits their vocal qualities better but they still tend to be drowned out by the instrumentals

    ReplyDelete
  57. Um i highly doubt that person is a kamilia... they are a troll.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That was always my one complaint with BGN, CNU's part was much too high for his range. They really need to keep the songs out of the falsetto range for them to sing live comfortably. I agree, on a lot of performances of BGN CNU was almost always reaching for those notes.

Thank goodness Jinyoung has shaken off that love of falsetto with TTW, and hope he doesn't go back there with his compositions. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  59. they are definitely not good representatives of South-Korea's public !

    ReplyDelete
  60. Homin's last three singles have all hit #1 on Oricon though and done better than KARA's

    ReplyDelete
  61. Someone doesnt understand the difference between general public and fanbases.

Kara lost their public relevancy and TVXQ have kept their fandom. They were more popular with the public for sure, but the public don't care anymore so they flopped. TVXQ have been continually successful for twice as long as Kara.

    ReplyDelete
  62. lmao japanese people dont care about jyj. tvxq outsold them even when jyj were promoting there freely under avex, and now they dont promote at all theyre definitely not as popular

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well that's one reason they don't like it... everyone has to start off as a rookie, but they already have a big concert in japan. it's like skipping being a rookie. and when you compare it to dbsk, who's first japanese concert was tiny, it seems like they got there out of nowhere

    ReplyDelete
  64. Funny comment but they wouldn't laugh, they're supportive of rookies in Japan because they said themselves what's the point in making a path if nobody goes down it :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. exactly. it is here where we see another great myth concocted by i-fans totally fall apart. the whole 'public recognition is better than having a large fan-base' argument is totally invalid for the very reason that with the public you are only as good as your last song/album but with your fanbase, you have a steady and more stable form of support and income regardless of quality

    ReplyDelete
  66. I was referring to K-Banas in all of my posts though. I'm assuming you're an I-Bana though?

    ReplyDelete
  67. this is in no way directed towards you, but what are b1a4 supposed to do? they have the fans there to help run a mini-concert, are they just expected to say 'no, we dont need the money, lets just wait another 2 years so that netizens wont chat shit about us'. it is a business decision, do you think dbsk would have wanted to go through all the hardship they went through? if they had it it this easy they wouldn't exactly be complaining and talking about seniority and the 'rookie period'. besides people seem to forget that for big groups the 'rookie period' barely lasts 2 years, case and point, suju and dbsk winning daesangs in under two years, bb accomplishing the feat in 18 months and wonder girls reaching overnight fame. b1a4 are one of the best selling rookie groups to come out in the last 2 years, their time to shine is now, similar to infinite in 2012.

    ReplyDelete
  68. you know why b1a4 is able to become so "famous" so quickly? because of the hallyu..

everyone knows that if this hallyu did not exsist.
like when BoA and DBSK had to work their way up into the japanese industry,
b1a4 would not even be able to make it...

    ReplyDelete
  69. It's still an issue because K-Banas still bring up the Dal Shabet-controversy in attempts to smear their name STILL. Every single article comment, every single blog post and every single tweet that bashes Dal Shabet has a B1A4 name or icon attached to it.

    ReplyDelete
  70. what? I question your standards of nice to look at

    ReplyDelete
  71. Are you kidding me? K-Banas are still to this day harassing Dal Shabet even on their personal me2days. It's pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I remember when getting your first solo concert was a big thing. :/ I think Sistar was the last group to really get a solo concert after working to gain a reputation. Now solo concerts are given out like candy.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I follow a lot of kbanas on twitter, not one of them mentioned dal shabet. never. then again, maybe i follow the sane kbanas.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Must be nice that they can afford to laugh, not all groups are from a big entertainment company that can afford to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on an idol group. Nothing more annoying than fans acting so smug just because their idols made it to the top. I don't think TVXQ would laugh though, because as fellow idols they'd appreciate B1A4's hard work. It's only the self-important fans that would.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I know right, how dare a somewhat-new idol group from an unknown company be successful! How dare they try to make a name for themselves! /sarcasm How the hell are rookie groups supposed to make it big when they're being pulled down the moment they start shining?

And how can an accurate, easily verified report be called 'media play'? IMHO, that makes it a news item.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Seriously. B1A4 doesn't media play. Articles are released about them when they do something, like have a concert, or have a comeback, get a new CF deal. Every other idol group has articles released about them with those things as well. I don't see how that's media play. It's not like MYNAME or VIXX (though I love vixx, their company does media play). It seems like only groups from big companies are the ones allowed to be successful. But those companies weren't always the big 3, they had groups that started trends that helped them become the big 3. WM is just doing what the big 3 did 20 years ago, starting small with a group that's growing in popularity.

    ReplyDelete
  77. the only reason why this concert is successful is because japanese people love concert. its a known fact.

    ReplyDelete
  78. lol don't now why JYJ was brought into this.................but Jaejoong alone is more popular than THSK or JYJ in Japan XD. Even back when they were five more people on the street knew who Jaejoong or 'THSK' was than any of the other members names.
And Hyun Joong is the most popular in the public right now along with Kara. THSK is only popular with BigEast now.

    ReplyDelete
  79. 4. [+64, -12] It's because of TVXQ and BoA that Korean singers now are able to even stand ground in Japan. Any idol these days can perform in the arena. This media play is not that special.

    5. [+50, -22] What's so special about the arena anymore, TVXQ would burst out laughing if they saw this article ㅋㅋ

    sure..

    ReplyDelete
  81. but that makes no sense...its not like they don't have songs to sing..they actually have a lot of songs...its a full fledge concert and they need to make money. They know they have a wide fanbase in japan... so why wouldn't they? I doubt people forget who paved the way for others in Japan, and I'm sure they're greatful...but some people know where their fanbase is and if its in Japan, then thats where they should promote...clearly they have a big one...if they SOLD out all tickets.

  83. Hmmm i wouldn't really call myself a Bana..I just recently discovered them, but I am anticipating them :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. uhmm JYJ did release an album in Japan in 2010 after filing a lawsuit against SM and joining Avex in debunking Yunho and Changmin out of Japan. the album, which Avex promoted crazily with a Dome Concert and was hopping it would sell over 500,000 it flopped with 175,000 copies only..even less than Junsu's solo. why else do u think Avex freaked out over TVXQ's comeback news, and decided to jump ships after seeing BigEast fans turn against them for backing JYJ and treating HoMin like garbage in the media and on twitter!?

    ReplyDelete
  85. dude how much specials do you watch? bcoz every idol group I've ever seen is a strange group of kids. XD

    ReplyDelete
  86. that was back in the day hun..today, Changmin's popularity in Japan has easily surpassed Jaejoong's

    ReplyDelete
  87. it happened with sones during the dream concert that they received the black ocean too. anti-fans pretending to be fans and soiling the fandom name. there were rumors that sones raped e.l.fs cassies and triple s.
